Email Etiquette

Today I learnt  how to write a proper and proffesional email.There are five main points to writing a proffesional email. The first point is to have a salutation or greeting. The second point is to give a specific subject or title to what you are writing about. The third point is to keep it to the point meaning that you must not drag you're  email and you must stay to the point. The fourth point is to be proffesional and to be well mannered and do not use slang or all capital letters. The fifth point is to be signed and proofread. Always remember these five points when writing an email to your teachers or adults and friends.

Superhero Stop Motion

 A few weeks ago we did an ILT on superheroes. We had to create a  short snippet of a Superhero or villain movie,but it had to be our own unique character.We had to make our superhero or villain using modeling clay.We chose our partners,which was really fun. We started off by designing our character and drawing and labeling it. We made a story board so that it will help us when we start creating the actual thing. The last step before we could start creating was to write a dialogue. We completed our dialogue and made some final touches. Finally we could start creating our character. We took our labelled drawing out and started to create our Villain. We could choose to create a superhero or villain. It took us a long time to finish but once we did it,it was amazing We made our green screen using cardboard and paper. we created our stop motion using lots of different techniques. We found a back round  to use and inserted it in. Our villains name is  X-Girl and she created the X-men. We chose this name because of course she created the X-men. Her superpowers are her hands because she can create,move and shoot things our of her hands.My partner and I worked well together and used our time well. I really enjoyed this ILT because we got to use our creativity and it made us think and explore with different apps.                                                                                                                                                  

Wonder Precepts

We are currently reading Wonder by R.G Palacio. I am really enjoying this book so far . In the book they speak about precepts and we learnt what precepts are . Let me tell you about Precepts and about my favourite precept.


A precept is a rule or direction , it often shows the way you should behave or act. Precepts are little life lessons that teaches you something or gives you inspiration.


give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

That Precept is my favourite precept because i have lots of dreams that i would like to achieve one day and this  just helps me to carry on believing. I know that dreams can come true if you work hard and have the right mind set because some of my dreams have already come true .if you associate yourself with theNever  right people it helps when achieving your dreams and goals.

A day in a life and home of a child in a informal settlements

Today I woke up and I was extremely freezing because there was showers of rain and I could feel some on my cheek because it came through the roof. I walked to the kitchen and there it was for the fifth time a clump of rain from the door and straight to the kitchen. I was going to clean it up but I first went to go see if there was any  food because I was terribly hungry and my throat felt as dry as rats tail . There it was again nothing but a bottle of red wine that my mom and granny worship .I really don’t like when they drink the red wine because they go all crazy and loud . I really should have been at school , but weather like today is no good to go out except to the dam to fetch water .

If there was 3 things I could wish for , it would be to have a blanket  and a bed to sleep in , a proper toilet and food in the house. My friend Zara and I try to go to the dam at the same time but it normally does not work , but today it did. I saw Zara there and I was very excited We took our buckets , filled them as much as possible and went home . It was extremely freezing and wet and it was so painful carrying the heavy bucket when I was walking home. Normally at this time a few guys would be asking me for money or taking water out of my bucket , but not today.

I don’t like it here, but this is where I grew up and the way it’s looking , I’m not going anywhere . I got home, gave my mom and granny some water and tried to sleep but it did not really work because of the thrashing rain. I fell fast asleep , finally , but with an empty stomach. I’m dreaming about God helping me and my family . So far it is the best dream ever and I hope it never ends.

Singing Inspecter Blog

Last week the singing inspector came.His name is Raymond .He has a ginger looped moustache, grey frizzy hair and has a smart suit with ugly knickerbockers.

My friends and I were so scared and  terrified of his rudeness and selfishness! Because this is what he did to us .

He made everybody come into the huge room except the little ones and the children that did not do music .We all had to sing the do ra me fa so late song which was so complicated. He called Benny and Charles up . “ He said “ Now you too the long and short you will sing for us . The problem was that they did not know one single song .

He got very angry and was shouting at them saying things like what can you sing or sing something! But finally Charles said in a soft voice, we can sing Pretty Polly ? Then sing it he shouted ! They began to sing but it was revolting.We all wanted to laugh but we were to frightened. Benny and Charles just stopped right before the verse because I think they were out of breath.  Mr R shouted “waste of time waste of time for vocalists that are idiots in singing class”

Then he called me ! I sang on the modelater , it was quit a nice song. But soon it was over and it was Gladys Armstrong and Irises turn . Gladys was shaking, I could feel her . But then” Mr R said “ What do we have here , the deaf and the dumb ? That night I had a nightmare that Mr R was biting my head off but I was fine after a while because dad came to sit with me . I told dad about him and from then I have never done singing again

News in Grade 5

Last week we took three days out of our normal school days to do an ILT, ILT stands for intergarating learning task . My teacher put us into pairs to pick a interesting soil creature and make a poster that tells her information about  the soil creature . We had to present a oral about our soil creature and do a little bit of acting involved in the oral . My partner was  Alisse , Alisse and I worked very good together and became good friends.Alisse and I chose a creature called the wombat they are very cool and interesting animals . One thing that I learned was that wombats pouches are upside down not like other marsupials. Alisse and I did our oral and I think it when very well and I am hoping to get a good mark . Over all I had a good first ILT in grade five and am , Looking foreword to do another one .

Camp is coming up and I am very excited a little nervous but overall exited . I really really hope I get all the people that I write down . I hope that there is no drama because when there is no drama camp is the best . I want to have loads of fun and be careful . I really don’t want to hurt myself  because I have a dancing competition after camp . My goals for this camp is to make at least one new friend and make memories. I hope that this camp is the best camp of my life and I hope the bust trip is fun . I am really exited for camp !
